Digital Card – Ontario Maple Leaf - Fall Colours

The shades of a maple leaf in fall are incredible. They glow with yellow, red, orange and sometimes even lime green. The colours in this painting are my interpretation of a Norway maple leaf when autumn is in full season in Ontario.

I still remember seeing the vibrant colours of the maples after being away for 20 years. The breadth of colour makes Ontario in the fall a beautiful place to explore. Vibrant and truly unique, our maple-covered autumn landscape is something worth celebrating.

This original watercolour was painted in 2025, when I made watercolour my primary medium and really began pushing the colours I was working with.

Created from an original watercolour by Canadian artist Dawn McNaught, this digital card is supplied as a PDF file. It includes printing instructions and a printable card template with trim and fold lines. The finished card measures 5" × 7" and fits a standard 5" × 7" envelope. The inside is blank for your own message.

Print the PDF at 100% or Actual Size. Do not select “Fit to Page” or “Shrink to Fit”, as this may change the size of
Trim the card along the crop marks, then fold in half to create your finished card.

For heavier cardstock, you may wish to lightly score the fold before folding for a cleaner crease.

Paper:
For the best result, I recommend 80–100 lb cover cardstock. A 100 lb cover stock is approximately 270 gsm and
gives the card a substantial, finished feel. However, not all home printers can accommodate heavier cardstock, so
please check your printer's specifications before printing.
