What’s on My Writing Desk?

My writing desk is just as busy as my kitchen and art studio these days.

The newsletter will be a quarterly publication rather than a monthly one. It will include a few recipes, puzzles or activities, and I hope to bring some Canadian contributors into the mix to share humour, ideas, and different points of view.

The newsletter will not fit neatly into one category. It will offer a varied mix for people who, like me, have more than one interest. I hope it will appeal to food lovers, crafters, DIYers, and curious people who simply enjoy doing and learning about many different things. Sourdough will have its own dedicated focus because it is such a specialized subject.

I have started the illustrations for one of my children’s stories, and I am hoping to use a quiet window in September to finish the artwork and self-publish two of my shorter stories. These are the children’s stories I feel I can complete most quickly.

I also plan to have a few recipe books fully written and checked for publication in 2027. The exact timing is still to be determined, although completing the smaller recipe packages will give me some useful experience when it comes to planning and timing the larger books.

I am also tightening and reworking a few chapters of Climate Collateral before sending it out for one more read-through. I am happy with the story, but I know there are still a few areas to tighten and places where I need to make sure everything flows well.

Climate Corridors has already begun to take shape as another story within the world I created, but I need to finish Climate Collateral before I travel too far down that road.

My real-world work sometimes changes the schedule. Projects for other people come first when they arrive, but thankfully, I can often take a short rest afterward and return to my own writing with fresh eyes. I have deliberately placed three other projects on the back burner until I finish the work already on my desk.

There is still plenty of

work ahead, but it feels good to be writing, illustrating, and slowly bringing these projects together.

Please check back to see what moves from my writing desk into the world.

Looking forward to getting these projects completed and I hope to see you again!
