September progress and a filling meal
I have been incredibly busy, as always, but I am making a little progress each day.
Cards and Format
The digital card collection is starting to fill out. My “A Little Something” collection is taking shape, and I love these little guys! The older cards I have chosen to keep in production are also making their way into the digital collection.
I will continue offering printed and limited-edition cards as well. However, with the shipping challenges and postal strikes we have faced over the past couple of years, I will likely keep those editions limited and local. I enjoy producing and selling limited print runs, but I will have to manage them carefully in this ever-changing world.
Sourdough
My first sourdough guide is now available. For those of us dealing with swinging temperatures and seasonal extremes, I created a guide to help you navigate baking and fermentation temperatures.
It is free to use, so please feel free to download it. I will not spam you, and unless you choose to subscribe, I do not use or follow up with your email address. I am genuinely trying to help.
Tea and Mixology
Tea and mixology recipes were never a large part of my blog until now. Some of my previous creations can still be found on the older blog, but the newest recipes will either appear as videos on YouTube or as giftable recipe packages on the website, complete with matching cards.
The holiday drinks collection from last year is also being converted into a digital format. Those recipes will be sold in packs of four with a Christmas card included.
If there is interest from a few local shops here in Peterborough, Ontario, I may also have the collections printed locally and in bulk. They are fun to give as gifts, easy on the budget and something I have always enjoyed creating. The Whisky Sweets are a treat, much like hot toddies, and they also make lovely gift ideas, particularly for holiday entertaining.
Recipes, Food and Practical Baking
I will be adding some of the older recipes I have written over the years. These are tried, true and reliable recipes.
I am also working on food photography with a fellow collaborator, but she is busy too. These recipes may not be as pretty as some of the cards and gift packages, but I will make sure they are clear, legible and not filled with all of my meanderings.
I am currently testing several giftable recipe ideas featuring spice and herb blends, as well as recipes you can bake and give along with the card. These will take time to complete. I am using my own artwork rather than clip art, which makes each product more personal.
Artwork
I plan to add two more posters this year. I have retired several acrylic paintings, while others have found homes.
My focus this year, and likely next year as well, is watercolour. I still have two large acrylic pieces waiting for me, although I may not return to them until the holidays. That is probably when I will finally make a little tea time for myself.
Some of the larger watercolours I have kept in my personal collection may also become posters. I love them enough to happily keep the originals, but I think three of them will speak to horse lovers as well.
I am happy to share my artwork and am open to licensing certain images. I will also keep a smaller selection of original art available for sale on the website. I am currently going through everything, as I need to reserve a few pieces for showings and other future projects.
Books
I am still writing, and I am also formatting some of the short stories.
I know there is interest in the books, and I truly appreciate your patience. I was not planning to reformat the website again, so give me another week before I begin tackling the short stories and returning to the illustrations.
I do get things finished. I just have a lot of things.
Thank you!
