Creative Wins

Good Morning!
I’m pleased to share that I’ve had several creative achievements over the past few months. As each project reaches completion, I’m feeling both proud and grateful...not only for the progress I’ve made with my products and artwork, but also for how grounded and inspired I feel overall.
I finally set up my studio space, a place where I can spread out my projects, see what needs finishing or tweaking, and decide what I’m ready to move on from. Truthfully, some of that space still makes it's way into the kitchen where I like to spend my time and the lighting is best.
The past few years have been chaotic, with lots of moving around, which really disrupted my creative flow and the original plans I had when moving back to Ontario. I’m hopeful that I’ll be settled for at least another year (or more) while I complete the rest of my inventory and finish at least two, possibly, three more literary works. Time will tell.
Win #1: My Website Is Live!!!
The website is officially up and running, and my artwork is now fully on display. I also have this year’s cards ready to go. Each card is either a limited run or hand-painted — please read the details before purchasing.
Giving someone a card feels so much more personal than sending a quick text with a couple of emojis and a GIF. It shows you took the time to think about the holiday, celebration, or maybe just the person who needs a little lift.
For me, cards capture a moment in time. An image can spark memories and even create new ones. It’s a wonderfully old-fashioned way of connecting and in our disconnected digital world, we could all use a bit more of that.
So, win number one: My website is complete (though it will continue to evolve), and my art and cards are now available for purchase to a wider audience. More designs coming soon.
Win #2: A Children’s Fable Reimagined!
I recently finished a children’s fable that I first wrote back in 2006. It’s a story about what happens when a little white lie, told in jest, starts to snowball ... and the importance of owning up before it’s too late.
Although the ending works out for most of my characters, the story still carries those old-fashioned morals many of us grew up with.
I’m currently developing the characters and deciding whether to approach a publisher or self-publish with ISBNs and sell the books independently through my website. I’ll keep you posted on that soon.
Win #3: Reviving My Food Blog
Last but not least, I’ve brought my food blog back to life. It’s a space for those who enjoy learning why we cook things a certain way, plus, of course, for sharing some great recipes and teaching a few cooking tips or tricks along the way..
I believe in keeping things simple, but when it comes to celebrating holidays with food, moderation can take a little break.
Welcome to my website! I hope you join me and become part of those little wins I have been striving so hard to achieve.
