Artist, Author, Baker Problem-Solver Food educator focused on process-driven sourdough, creative cooking, and art and I have literal literature in the works. I have a lot of passions and the "dog-with-a-bone" energy to see them through. With a former career in professional baking and a background in graphics, marketing and communications, I’m working at simplifying the science of bread, while still being creative. I don't just share recipes; I teach you how to problem solve your specific environment. I am using visual tools to help navigate everything from sluggish levain and tunnelling batards in Canada to those overactive doughs and overproofed loaves we are all perplexed about. Based in Peterborough, Ontario. Not part of a heritage farm and focused on straight talk not or confusing technical talk. It’s just practical sourdough techniques and real-world intuition for people who just want bread that works.
When something interests me, I get my hands into it until I understand it well enough to make it work. Then I keep working at it to make it better. Storytelling, baking, art, plants and systems that make all of them function, plus the ones that keep us safe or moving forward in an organized way.
I don't claim perfection - I just figure it out and keep building.
Experimenting in my Kitchen:
I have been writing for a very long time and cooking and baking even longer. I am tying up my older projects from experimentinginmykitchen.blogspot.com and expanding on the sourdough knowledge, recipes and flavour combinations I have created. I am adding the best of my recipes from over 30 years of baking and over all experiences to my website.
As OF MAY 2026
My first Recipe PDF's are now available and I have finished the technical writing of what will be my first cook book.
Bread baking literature can be complicated and I am still refining some of the language to simplify it for everyday bakers.
I'm currently working on the imagery, while finishing the final bread and recipes that will accompany the specialty breads throughout the book.
I think in systems.
This book will show you how to design your meals around the sourdough loaves you create. It will be for the sourdough bakers that want to create a meal from great bread. This first book will focus on breakfast and I will see where the next book takes me after it's completed.

We eat with our eyes, feel with our hearts, and a single scent can take us somewhere we haven’t been in years. A painting can pull you back into childhood; the taste of a dish can bring you home in your imagination. Nostalgia guides much of what I create, whether I’m painting, writing, or crafting recipes that feel like memories you can taste.
I love sharing the stories behind my dishes and giving people something they can hold onto. Literally. That’s why I offer now offer digital recipes, along with downloadable information on sourdough for anyone who wants to continue exploring my creations at home. The Blog has been a long running passion of mine and although it was interrupted, I will always be working with bread, sharing what I know and hopefully creating new bakers as they look for answers or become interested too.
I am on YouTube
My art, recipes, and a few of my stories are on my channel. You can check out the channel for some of the visual stories, the art process and yes, cooking tutorials and sometimes I'll make something because it's cute, fun or I am testing a piece for a client. It's all part of what I do. I enjoy being a Canadian creator, there are more of us then you realize.
Arts, Media and Writing
My website is still in the works, but you’re welcome to join the journey early. I’m building a subscription format that will span all four of my platforms, so you can be the first to see new art, new recipes, and everything in between.
If you’re here, you’re already part of the story — and I’m so glad you’re along for the ride.

* MY FIRST COMPLETED STORIES*
Out for review May 2026
- Title to be determined - I originally wrote the base in 2006, was dusted off and reworked slightly to trim down the content. It should fit nicely into a 32 page book.
I’m formatting illustrations to match the fable, with hopes to release it by late 2025 or early 2026.
I will put updates here and on Facebook.
- The Life of Clover – A whimsical hedgehog exploring the seasons. First short stories completed - working on illustrations
- Doofus the Dragon – Reviving an old character from my sketchbooks, now taking shape for a new generation. “The Life of Fungus” and others will be part of this collection. A Picture Book Collection

RAVENSCRAIG – ORIGIN STORY
Now Available.
A moody, Celtic-inspired story drawn from ideas and dreams I first explored two decades ago, later developed into a foundational storyline through collaborative roleplay in a digital world. The worlds may be gone, but the story remains.
The origin story is available to read for free. I will be adding a continuing series of short stories from this world, with new entries released (hopefully) each month.
If you enjoy atmospheric fantasy, mythology-inspired storytelling, and evolving worlds, I invite you to explore Ravenscraig.
I’ll be refocusing these original ideas and adapting them into visual/graphic novels, onto YouTube as short stories or books as they first took shape in my creative mind.

💡 These projects are in various stages — some near release, others still on the drawing board. Follow along here or on YouTube to watch them take shape.

Artwork and Series
Canadiana Provincial Pride Cards:
A set of 2 cards per province, highlighting the things that make each unique. Canada’s diversity of landscapes, wildlife, and even urban imagery will be reflected. This is an ongoing series — the first set of 4 cards is now available to purchase.
Larger Paintings and Posters:
I’ve completed several larger pieces and am testing the web as a sales tool for works sized 8 × 10 and up. I also plan to release a poster series in late 2025 or early 2026. Posters will be reproduced at a lower cost than fine art prints, making a select range of my imagery more accessible.
Stay tuned.
