It has been an incredibly productive month!
I honestly did not think I had another major writing project in me right now, but somewhere between recipe testing, blog updates, YouTube videos, and waiting on notes back from my alpha reader, I managed to begin assembling my first cookbook.
Over the last decade of writing about practical baking and sourdough bread through Experimenting in My Kitchen, I accumulated far more material than I realized. Between the recipes on this website, the blog posts, the technical notes, and the constant revisions and experiments happening in my kitchen, I suddenly realized I was already halfway through a practical cookbook for sourdough baking.
And I am thrilled about it!
I am currently gathering images and testing a few final recipes to complete the project. I may choose to self-publish this cookbook as a PDF first while I explore additional options. Once the draft is complete, it will head to my alpha reader after she finishes reviewing my other material. She has the children's books now.
I wanted to share this news because I know it may seem like the website or my work has not progressed very quickly lately, but there has been a tremendous amount happening behind the scenes.
There is also far more technical sourdough content available now on my YouTube channel now, if you would like to follow along there as well. I have been sharing the realities, challenges, and occasional foibles of sourdough baking while working through constantly changing kitchen and environmental conditions. It reinforced just how much technical knowledge I still have from baking.
Many projects are finally moving much closer to completion.
My goal is to complete at least four major projects before the end of 2026, and if all goes well, the cookbooks and at least one childrens story may even be available before Christmas.
